THIS MONTH IN HOT ROD
This is one book you can judge by its cover. NZ's biggest Nostalgia Drag racing event yet is featured with a massive 13.5 pages of coverage dedicated to this one day event. Whether you were in the pits, on the track, or checking out the cars or reminiscing with old friends we got it covered. Heck there's even a page of classic T-shirts plus three mini-stories perpetuating the legends of racing and time. This magazine also carries coverage of our own event the Club Champs which celebrated 30 years of running with a massive turnout of competitors. On the pure competition racing scene we've got full coverage of the Drag Racing Nationals and 40th Anniversary of Fram Autolite Dragway plus coverage of the second drag racing nationals held at Taupo.
We've also got full coverage of the NZ Street Rod Nationals also held in Taupo and Marineland Street Rods Rod Run & Swapmeet event in Napier. That makes a total of four big drag racing events and four hot rod events. Were you there?
Grant Stables' very cool 1932 Ford highboy roadster heads-up our list of features for our June issue and that's backed by a feature on Mike Wells' caravan. WHAT! Yes you read right, a caravan, no ordinary towed-home but a very special '50s-style digs. You have to see it to believe it so that's why we decided to share it with all of you via the magazine.
On a technical note we've published the announcement by LVVTA on the subject of safety of certain brands of aftermarket steering columns so this is something every hot rodder must read. Safety is paramount!
It's educational and entertaining so grab yourself a copy.
